About Us
Ipswich Orchid Society is a not for profit organisation which promotes the culture and conservation of orchids. We are a friendly organisation, welcoming the public to join or visit.
Ipswich Orchid Society holds two shows per year, our Autumn show in April and our Spring show in October. These shows are open to the public. There are hundreds of flowering orchids on display and wide range of plants for sale including orchids, bromeliads and a wide variety of garden and house plants. The dates of our next show will be available in the Shows tab.
Ipswich Orchid Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Ipswich Uniting Church on Glebe Road. Visitors are welcome. Doors open at 7pm and the meeting starts at 7.30pm. Meetings have flowering orchids on display, cultural advice, tips from judges, a raffle and a guest speaker.

Charity Patnerships
The Ipswich orchid Society (IOS) has a had a partnership with local charities for past 2 decades. The partnership with
each group lasts for 2 years and involves the selected group working with IOS during our 2 annual shows each year. It is
one way our society is able to support community activities and work with local groups.
Ipswich orchid Society has developed a profit sharing formula that allows us to work out the returns to the partner
organisation based on raffle sales, door entry takings and net profit from each show in the year. A presentation is made
each year at our Christmas function. The Ipswich Bromeliad Society also contributes towards the amount presented.
In odd numbered years, IOS seeks expressions of interest from local charities and Not-For-Profit organisations who are
interested in partnering with us over the following two years. IOS has developed an explanation sheet outlining what
the partnership involves and what is required as part of the application process. IOS’ management committee makes a
decision on the partnering organisation and a Memorandum of Understanding is signed between the two parties.
Interested local groups are encouraged to be involved in our biennial partnership. For more information, they should
